Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see ~ Mark Twain

What is kindness? It is said it is love in action. It can be a gentle touch, a comforting embrace, a supportive smile, an honest compliment, an encouraging word or simply a listening ear, all of which has the power to turn someone’s life around.

It would always be the greatest blessing and the most powerful force to exist in this universe, the best gift one can bestow upon another or oneself—a gift all can afford but only a handful give! The ability of lending a hand in the time of need, of telling a struggling soul that there is hope and love left—to bring in world of change in someone’s or one’s own life is truly underrated.

Kindness is not only something that is always meant for others but also for oneself. We should not be too engaged in taking care of everything and everyone around ourselves that we forget to take care of ourselves.

It has been proven acts of kindness not only helps the receiver, but the donor is benefitted in many ways too. We experience positive mental and physical changes. It lowers stress levels and increases the body’s production of feel-good hormones such as dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin. Being kind helps boost the immune system, reduce blood pressure, stress and anxiety.

HOW TO SHOW KINDNESS

Always be a little kinder than necessary ~ James Barry

We can be kind to ourselves by not being too hard on ourselves, frequently praising ourselves by recognizing how far we’ve come, all the good things we did or can do can and sometimes putting ourselves first. We need to stop comparing ourselves with everybody and love ourselves for who we are.

Showing kindness to others can take many forms. It can be helping that old woman lift her luggage, applauding someone for their performance when no one else is or simply giving your friend a supportive embrace at the end of a rough day. These are some ways we show kindness to those around us, but how can we reach a larger crowd? Well, we can donate! Today, there are thousands of organizations which run charity or donation drives so as to not limit our acts of kindness to a few around us and help as many people we can. Through such organizations, one can donate money, old clothes, food items, items needed in our daily lives etc. which do not cost us anything but can turn someone’s life around!

We, the Humble Helpers, are one such group of individuals who want to make this world a better place, but we need your assistance to rise. So, let’s change the world one act of kindness at a time!
